Maine Farmland Trust
A story of the Dosties, three generations of dairy farmers living and working in Fairfield, Maine.
Maine Farmland Trust is a statewide organization that protects farmland, supports farmers, and advances the future of farming. Their goal is not just to protect Maine farmland, but also to revitalize Maine’s rural landscape by keeping agricultural lands working and helping farmers, and their communities, thrive.
National Endowment for the Arts
In 2018, Don & Cindy Roy of Gorham, Maine, were awarded the prestigious NEA National Heritage Fellowship. MEDIA LOMA was chosen as the production company to represent Maine by telling Don & Cindy's story. This video was created and produced for the National Endowment for the Arts in collaboration with the National Council for the Traditional Arts and the Maine Arts Commission. You can read more about Don & Cindy at NEA’s website. This video was recently nominated for an Emmy® award.
Waterville Creates! enlisted us to produce video content for their member organizations. We created videos for the Waterville Public Library, the Downtown Farmer’s Market and Common Street Arts. These non-fiction profiles highlight the eclectic and welcoming personas of Waterville. Waterville Creates! Is an active non-profit that supports arts and culture in Waterville and beyond. Please have a look and learn more about them at their website: www.watervillecreates.org
Maine International Film Festival
In the summer of 2017, MEDIA LOMA was proud to produce all of the video content for the Maine International Film Festival's 20th Anniversary. We produced ten 'featurettes' that were released in anticipation of the 2018 festival, including interviews with legendary cinematographer (and our personal hero) Roger Deakins.
. At MIFF #21, we produced five “dailies” that were shot and edited, edited and published every other day during the festival’s 10-day run. For this years MIFF, we created a teaser with hand-drawn animations and a killer song by our composer Devon Cole - take a peek!
The MIFF Dailies
During our 10 wild days at MIFF 2017 and 2018, we shot and edited a ‘daily recap’ every single day, contributing to the festival's social media campaign. Here are a few examples.
Please visit MIFF’s website to see all #MIFF20 and #MIFF21 videos.
Maine State Credit Union
We created a series of ads for Maine State Credit Union in collaboration with Rockland-based creative agency Naretiv. These social media ads aimed to evoke the feeling of youthful freedom with tailor-made music and minimalistic imagery. Also, we got to hang out with some awesome puppies.
Emanuel & Pauline A. Lerner Foundation
"Trekkers Training Institute for Youth Development"
During the Summer of 2017, the Trekkers Training Institute for Youth Development hosted individuals from several youth development organizations to train them in an aspirations-based mentoring curriculum set forth by the Emanuel & Pauline A. Lerner Foundation. We continue to work with the Lerner Foundation and are currently in production for a long-form project for the foundation. You can follow this journey on our Instagram account!
When there is downtime (rarely) we get to work on our creative pursuits. We make music videos, short films, animations, collages -- all kinds of digital visual media. Enjoy the weirder side:
Wes and Mel also freelance independently. If you’re looking for a DP, Camera-Op, Assistant Camera, Assistant Director, Producer, etc. We look to work with everyone and collaborate with the creative culture of our area.
